Welcome! My name is Millie Batta (she/her) and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor. I recognize that seeking counselling can be a vulnerable step that requires courage and strength. With this in mind, I offer a grounded, inclusive space where you can feel heard, supported, and connected. I will meet you with warmth and curiousity to build a trusting, collaborative relationship and work toward your goals of personal growth and change. Throughout this journey, I’ll help you uncover new insights and tools to empower you in creating a meaningful, fulfilling life.
My Approach
The foundation of my work is rooted in a person-centred approach, where authenticity, acceptance, and empathy are the pillars of my counselling practice. I provide trauma-informed and culturally-informed care by adopting an intersectional lens to explore how the complexities of one’s social identities and experiences can impact overall well-being. My lived experiences as a first-generation Indo-Canadian have helped me appreciate individual experiences and unique values. I believe therapy should reflect such diversity; thus, I work to tailor my approach to work in your best interest.

I completed my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at the University of Lethbridge. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Integrated Sciences from the University of British Columbia, in which I gained an understanding of the relationship between the human body and behavior.

I’m deeply passionate about learning and research. I am a learner at heart and research is a passion of mine. This curiosity drives me to stay engaged with emerging ideas and develop insights that inform my work. I’m particularly interested in topics like neurodiversity, gender, and the mental health of racialized groups. My thesis focused on the experiences of autistic youth with emergency remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. I’ve had the opportunity to co-publish and co-present on a variety of projects that explore the experiences of racialized populations, including women, graduate students, and Black communities.
